Daniel Fast Day 11

Day 11

TODAY WAS THE LUNCHEON….. CLICK HERE http://www.hark.com/clips/ntvffdnwzs-dum-da-dum-dum

I wondered as I walked up ” Who would I be sitting with?  Who was going to wonder, “What is this girl doing with salad dressing in her small zip lock baggy?   I enter the countryclub and find my seat.  I went ahead and poured my salad dressing on the salad.  To minimize the comments and questions about the fast.  It seemed to work.

Chickasaw Country Club was SOO accomodating. They brought me a baked potato with Olive Oil and Sea Salt.  AWESOME!!!

Every time I have been there, Their food has been fabulous!  It was very tempting to want the food on the buffet line, it smelled outstanding. I was strong.  This was a first luncheon to go to where I had to decline food in front of aquaintances or complete strangers.  It went well.

Today I got aggrivated with myself!

Two days in a row I have somehow incorrectly programmed my alarm on my phone!

I mention it because I have gotten up later than intended both days.  ARGH!!! So I have felt rushed with my set aside time for the devotional!  Anyway….

Today Daniel Fast Devotional discussed Prayer and the Process

Devotional Verse “Seven times Elijah told him to go and look finally the seventh time his servant told him ‘ I saw a little cloud, about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.’  Then Elijah shouted, ‘ Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘ Climb into your chariot and go back home.  If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you! “ 1 Kings 18: 43-44

Isn’t it amazing how much faith Elijah had?   He knew God was going to answer his prayer and make it rain.  I pray that MY faith gets that strong.

Devotion- God does not want merely to answer our prayers;  He wants to spend time with us to prepare us for the answer that will come.

R.A. Torrey says.  the reason why many fail in battle is because they wait until the hour of the battle.  The reason why others succeed is because they have gained their victory on their knees long before the battle came.

Isn’t that the case sometimes?  We think we can handle it on our own, then we can get in a mess and use our 911 call.

We read out of Luke 8 for today’s devotional.

It was really good.  The thing that keeps coming out to me in this chapter and in the devotionals. … WE HAVE TO HAVE FAITH!!!  The ones that even had a little bit of it, received what they needed.  Jesus is just waiting to intervene for us.  We just have to ask for it, but WITH FAITH!  Why is it so hard for us to believe?

We believe him for our ETERNAL salvation.  But then, when we, when I, ask for something in my day to day life…. it becomes a game of “do I really believe” He can and will do it.   Why is that?

Well, I say during this fast.. NO MORE!!  No more will I believe that my God can do one thing and not the other things.   He can do all things.  He created the HEAVENS and the EARTH for crying out loud.  ( I am preaching to myself … can you tell?)

It’s amazing how I try to box our God in.  In my mind limit him… when I know deep down in my SPIRIT., that God is “able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think”…Ephesians 3:20

I have been determined to climb up this mountain to get to the next mountain top (level of relationship) with God.  I am right in the middle of it.

The closer I get to God, the closer I need to be…. I’m hungry… and not for food, but for more of God.

I believe that He will allow me to have it.  Don’t you?

xoxo,
